WBA Announces Registration for Summer Basketball

HOOP IT UP! 
Summer Youth Basketball
 
Dates:         July 9 – August 9
Days:           Thursdays and/or Sundays
Times:         One hour games between 5:00 pm and 10:00 pm
Ages:           Boys and girls entering grades 3 – 12 in the fall
Location:    Compo Beach Basketball Courts
Code:           Boys – SYBB   /  Girls - SYGB
Fee:              $80 per player plus a handpass

The Westport Basketball Association and Westport PAL offer a summer youth basketball program at Compo Beach. This program is designed to keep players in touch with their basketball skills in the off-season. We offer “organized pick-up games” with certified referees for boys and girls entering grades 3 – 12. Boys and girls are separated by gender and grade into teams that play games 1 to 2 times per week, depending on enrollment. Grades 3 and 4 will be instructional as well as play games. There is also an end of season festivity, which includes contests & prizes along with ice-cream.

New WBA Website

WBA today began a cutover to a whole new club management and communications system that should revolutionize the way we run our club.  Highlights include the following features:

  • Club news and information pages.
  • Home pages for all teams.
  • Online schedules for the league as well as individual teams in a variety of formats, including a multi-team schedule for families.
  • Email notifications of schedule changes.
  • Game results and player statistics.
  • League standings.
  • Online member database.
  • Customizable, online registration system.
  • Team Rosters.
  • Blast emails to select groups of members.

Please bear with us as WBA will be testing these new features over the summer to evaluate the many ways the club and its members can benefit.
